Seniors Real Estate Specialist SRES

Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES)

Choosing the right real estate agent is important. A real estate agent is a licensed sales professional who helps clients buy, sell, and lease property. A Realtor (or REALTOR®) is a real estate agent who is also a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).  A Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) is a REALTOR® who is uniquely qualified to assist seniors in housing sales and purchases. The SRES® designation is awarded only to REALTORS® who have additional education on how to help seniors and their families with later-in-life real estate transactions. Our mission is to help seniors and their families navigate the maze of financial, legal, and emotional issues that accompany the sale of the home.

What makes an SRES Certified REALTOR different:

  1. Understanding Unique Needs: Seniors often have unique needs when it comes to buying or selling real estate. An SRES-certified REALTOR® has specialized training in understanding these needs, such as accessibility concerns, downsizing requirements, or proximity to healthcare facilities.
  2. Knowledge of Senior Housing Options: SRES-certified REALTORS® are familiar with various housing options tailored to seniors, including active adult communities, retirement communities, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. They can provide valuable guidance on which type of housing may best suit a senior’s lifestyle and preferences.
  3. Empathy and Patience: Seniors may face emotional challenges when transitioning to a new living situation or selling a long-time family home. An SRES-certified REALTOR® is trained to approach these situations with empathy, patience, and sensitivity, helping seniors navigate the process with care and understanding.
  4. Local Community Connections: Many SRES-certified REALTORS® specialize in serving senior clients within specific communities or regions. They often have extensive local networks and can connect seniors with resources and services tailored to their needs, such as moving companies, estate planners, or senior support groups.

Overall, working with a REALTOR® who has experience as a Seniors Real Estate Specialist can provide seniors and their families with peace of mind, expert guidance, and personalized support throughout the real estate transaction process.

Cate and I have personally experienced selling our parent’s home long distance. Being a REALTOR did help us navigate the process however every state has different procedures. We understand that moving can be an emotional time for all involved. We have helped clients move back home from Florida when they weren’t here for the entire process.  We managed everything from start to finish. We even packed up their personal belongings and family pictures and sent them to them.  Contact us today to see how we can help you and your family move into the next season of life. ~ Philip Tirino
